Curiosities and Superstitions About Halloween

There are a lot of curiosities and superstitions about Halloween, Halloween itself being a celebration of superstitions. Not only do people fear black cats and witches, but they also think that the dead can come back and haunt or punish the living. Therefore, people recur to all kinds of tricks to send them away.
The name of Halloween comes from All-hallow-even, which was the original name of this celebration. Halloween was a day of religious fests for the Northern European pagans until Pope Gregory the Third and Gregory the Fourth moved the old Christian feast from the 13th of May to the 1st of November.
